A service schedule that fits the equipment.

A busy passenger lift in a block of flats has different demands from a goods lift with limited daily use. We consider the type of lift, its condition, manufacturer recommendations and how the building depends on it when discussing a servicing schedule.

A maintenance arrangement should make responsibilities clear: the visits included, the treatment of call-outs, the parts covered and what happens when further work is required. We discuss those points before you choose cover.

What we can help with.

01

Standard cover

An option for planned maintenance. Discuss the proposed servicing schedule and how breakdown attendance and additional repairs would be charged.

02

Intermediate cover

Discuss broader support and the agreed call-out and parts terms. Intermediate agreements include a minimum of six maintenance visits per year.

03

Comprehensive cover

Tailored cover based on an assessment of the equipment. Comprehensive agreements include a minimum of six maintenance visits per year; inclusions and exclusions are agreed in the contract.

Areas we cover
01

Review the existing lift

Send the site postcode, number of lifts, lift type and any recurring faults. Recent service and examination records help establish the starting point.

02

Agree visits and cover

We set out the servicing proposal and contract terms so you can compare the scope with your building’s needs.

03

Act on the findings

Visit reports provide a record of servicing and issues identified. Use the findings to plan repairs, budgets and future equipment upgrades.

Your questions,
answered.

Can we move from our current maintenance company?

Yes. Tell us about your current agreement, renewal timing and available records so we can discuss a handover. Check your existing notice and termination terms before making arrangements.

Is maintenance the same as a LOLER examination?

No. Routine servicing and a thorough examination are separate activities. Forge can help arrange an examination through an independent third-party provider.

How often should our lift be serviced?

The schedule depends on the equipment, its condition, usage and manufacturer recommendations. We discuss an appropriate arrangement for your building rather than give a single frequency for every lift.
